Welcome to Duluth

Nestled in the northeastern section of the Atlanta Metropolitan Area, Duluth lies in the west-central section of Gwinnett County, bounded to the north by the Chattahoochee River, northeast by Suwanee, south by unincorporated land, and west by Berkeley Lake. Increasingly upscale, the streets are lined by trees and attractive architecture. Defined by award-winning parks and excellent schools, Duluth appeals to many families and young professionals.

Originally home to the Cherokee, Duluth was established in the early 19th century by settlers such as cotton merchant Evan Howell. In 1871, Congress funded a north-south railroad line into the community, officially putting Duluth on the map. Having grown rapidly since the 1970s, Duluth continues to flourish.

Today, the city is home to some of the lowest tax rates in the Atlanta Metropolitan Area, not to mention a flawless combination of rural and urban living. With architecture ranging from Colonial Revival to modern new construction and even split-level dwellings, the array of homes are sure to satisfy all tastes, especially as the costs vary widely as well. Enchanted by the thriving atmosphere, charming lifestyle, and great amenities, many young professionals and families are proud to call Duluth home.
